An Apprenticeship in Hairdressing?

An apprenticeship is the best way to gain the skills needed to be a successful stylist. Leslie Frances offers an individual learning plan enabling you to progress at your own speed. You can come to us independently or may be referred to us by another salon. Whatever your background, you can rely on the Leslie Frances Education Team to support you every inch of the way.

What's in it for me?

Apprenticeships allow you to learn while you earn. Once you qualify, you could go on to endless career opportunities from working as a Top Stylist at your local salon to working on a Cruise Ship or Overseas. You could also use your qualifications to get into TV & Film Work, Fashion & Photographic Work or you could go into Teaching or Managing your own Salon.

Qualified, highly skilled, talented stylists are always in demand. Experienced stylists regularly earn over £20,000 a year, but with a little creative thinking, there is no limit to the earning opportunities and careers paths available both in the UK and abroad.

• Diploma Level 2 Hair Professionals

The Level 2 Diploma in Professional Hairdressing has been designed by employers for learners wishing to work as a hairdresser. This Diploma will lead to the achievement of the Hairdressing Professional Standard, alongside the relevant functional skills and the end-point assessment (EPA) module. Learners will complete these qualifications as an employed apprentice in a real work environment.

• Diploma Level 3 for Advanced & Creative Hair Professionals

The Level 3 Diploma for Advanced and Creative Hair Professionals is a newly created qualification based on employer needs and has been designed by employers. The Diploma can be used to support the on-programme journey in preparation for completing the end-point assessment for the Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Apprenticeship Standard.

This is a qualification designed for learners who are at least 16 years old and who wish to develop the skills and knowledge needed work as a Hairdresser. They may have previously completed a Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area. Learners wishing to complete this qualification will ideally be doing so as an employed, apprentice in a real work environment.

Dominic Seeley completed his Apprenticeship at the age of 16; the youngest apprentice ever to complete at Leslie Frances Training. Dominic began training with us at the age of 14 and is a real success story completing Hairdressing Level 1 whilst at school and now qualified at Hairdressing Level 3 and recently opened up his own salon at the age of 17.
